Media invited aboard Coast Guard Cutter Eagle and Coast Guard Auxiliary vessel for Sail Boston 2009

BOSTON - Media are invited to pool resources for an opportunity here Wednesday, July 8, to ride aboard Coast Guard Cutter and Tall Ship Eagle as it enters Boston Harbor and docks at the Charlestown Navy Yard for Sail Boston 2009.  An additional seven spots are available on a Coast Guard Auxiliary vessel, which will operate in front of Eagle as she transits.  The two pooled positions aboard Eagle should include one television representative and one print reporter.  All media members interested on riding aboard the Auxiliary vessel are asked to wear non-marking, soft-soled shoes.  Auxiliary vessel spots will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

What:  Coast Guard media availability for one pooled television representative and one pooled print reporter aboard Coast Guard Cutter and Tall Ship Eagle as she enters Boston Harbor and docks at the Charlestown Navy Yard for Sail Boston 2009.  An additional seven spots are available to ride aboard a Coast Guard Auxiliary vessel which will operate in front of Eagle.  The Auxiliary vessel spots will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.

When:  Wednesday, July 8 (See below for exact times.)

Where:  Two pooled resources for Eagle Transit are asked to be available 7 a.m. at: 

Diversified Auto Parking Lot 
Charlestown, Mass.  02109

Coast Guard small boats will bring pooled resources out for boarding of Eagle in Presidents Roads for the trip back to the dock at Charlestown Navy Yard.

Seven additional spots aboard Auxiliary boat will depart 7 a.m. from:

Media wishing to ride aboard Auxiliary vessel are asked to wear non-marking, soft-sole shoes.

Media are encouraged to RSVP before 3 p.m., Monday, July 6 with  pooled resource contact information and the seven first-come, first-serve Auxiliary vessel spots by contacting Petty Officer 3rd Class James Rhodes at 617-406-9011.
