BOSTON —The Gloucester, Mass., based lobster boat that became disabled Wednesday more than 200 miles southeast of Nantucket, Mass., moored safely in Province town, Mass., at about 11 a.m., Saturday, hours before a severe winter storm is expected to impact the area.

The Boston-based Coast Guard Cutter Escanaba, towing the Michael & Kristen since Thursday, passed the 77-foot lobster boat to a 47-foot motor lifeboat crew from Station Provincetown Saturday morning.

“The captain of the boat, like I told him on the radio, he did a very good job at maneuvering his vessel,” Ron Davis, the captain of the Michael & Kristen, said about the Escanaba.

The station boat crew brought the Michael & Kristen to McMillan Pier in Provincetown, where the crew will attempt to repair the vessel.

Provincetown police officers met the Michael & Kristen at the pier when it moored and arrested one of the five crewmen aboard due to an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

For questions regarding the arrest, please contact Sgt. Carrie Lopes of the Provincetown Police by calling (508) 487-1212.
