BOURNE, Mass.- Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod is scheduled to send an HH60 Jayhawk helicopter to the Caribbean to relieve crews that have been working in Haiti on Jan. 22, 2010. Air Station Cape Cod sent an HU 25 Guardian jet to the Coast Guard Seventh District in Miami on Jan. 20, 2010. The Aircrews will join over 800 Coast Guard responders already in the air, on the ground, and in the water around Haiti. They will be responsible for carrying out the Coast Guard’s mission in support of rescue operations in Haiti and assisting the Haitian government in their recovery efforts. Aircrews are directly involved with airlifting victims who need medical assistance as well as delivery of humanitarian aid.
