Coast Guard searches for 12-year old boy near Brown's Island

The Coast Guard is currently searching for a 12 year-old boy near Brown’s Island near Marblehead, Mass.

The Marblehead Fire Department notified Coast Guard Sector Boston at 9 p.m., Tuesday Feb. 23, 2010, that they had received a report from the boy’s mother that he had not come home from school.

The boy’s mother reported to the Marblehead Fire Department that her son was missing and had taken camping gear with him. The Fire Department found the boy’s bike on a road leading to Brown’s Island.

The Fire Department conducted a land search of the island with no results. Currently the Coast Guard is conducting a shoreline search of the island with a 47-foot motor life boat from Station Gloucester.
