BOSTON — A Coast Guard helicopter and 10 people from Air Station Cape Cod in Buzzards Bay, Mass., left Massachusetts Memorial Day and headed for Mobile, Ala., where they will provide aerial support for the incident commander of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response.
The helicopter, four pilots and six crew and maintenance personnel are scheduled to remain in the Gulf area for the next three weeks.
The deployment will not affect Air Station Cape Cod’s search and rescue capabilities, and the unit will remain fully operational.
