HALIFAX, Nova Scotia — Ten U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Escanaba crewmembers participated in celebration of Canada Day, Thursday, marking Canada's 143rd year.

Marching with representatives from the US Navy and Marine Corps, the Escanaba’s crew members looked sharp in their full dress blues.

With blue, sunny skies, the contrast could not have been greater from the last formation that these crew members assembled for three days prior, when a deluge of rain fell upon them while in formation for a review by the Queen of Canada.

The cutter crew’s participation in the Royal Nova Scotia Tattoo Parade was the final official event in the week-long celebration of Canada's Navy Centennial Celebration and International Fleet Review.

“With our host nation, and a fleet of more than 6,000 visiting sailors from nine different countries, the Escanaba crew continues to proudly represent the United States and the Coast Guard on a world stage,” said Cmdr. Edward Westfall, the commanding officer of the Escanaba.

The Escanaba is a 270-foot medium endurance cutter homeported in Boston.
