WOODS HOLE, Mass. — The Coast Guard is searching Narragansett Bay after a fisherman reported a boat with no operator adrift near Rose Island, R.I., Monday, July 5, 2010.
Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England dispatched a 45-foot boat crew from Coast Guard Station Castle Hill and a Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod after receiving a report from a fisherman that an 8-foot zodiac style boat was adrift with no one on board and the oars still in the rowing position about 6 a.m.
The boat does not have a registration number or owner information marked on it.
